Bike Tour de Vineyards

Experience an educational cycling tour through the vineyards and wine alleys of Mikulčice, including a guided wine, syrup, must, and wine- or grape-based specialty tasting, organized by the Bartonik family winery.

The cycling tour is designed for those who want to learn more about viticulture and winemaking in the Podluží region while also having the opportunity to visit wine alleys and lesser-known vineyard areas with a certified guide. The program also includes a visit to the Folk Museum and the Wine and Winemaking Museum in Mikulčice. At the end, you will have the chance to taste top-quality wines and other specialties in the pleasant surroundings of a modern winery.

Agenda:

• Meeting at 6:00 PM at the Mikulčice Tourist Information Center. Return approximately at 9:00 PM.
• A presentation on the current state of viticulture in the Czech Republic and its relationship with global winemaking.
• Visit to the Folk Museum, featuring local traditional costumes and equipment typical for the Podluží region, including period furnishings.
• Guided tasting combined with a tour of the winery’s modern facilities, including a tasting of 5-7 archive wine samples with expert commentary on winemaking and cellar management.
• Tasting of specialties such as syrups, wine jelly, wine spritz, grape must, and wine jelly-filled chocolates.
• Visit to the wine alley "Tešické búdy," showcasing various architectural approaches to the construction of wine cellars, which are part of the rich folk architecture of the Slovácko region.
• Tour of the vineyards in the "Kratiny" and "Kněžské" vineyard areas, demonstrating different vine pruning techniques and introducing year-round vineyard maintenance, including methods of protecting against diseases and pests.
• Visit to the wine cellar district "U chaty," where you can observe the daily work of local winemakers. This district includes several wine alleys with cellars of various sizes and styles.
• Tour of the unique Wine Museum in Mikulčice.
