About the winery
In 1994 the company Agrovinol spol. s r. o. was founded, which gradually restored old, neglected vineyards to new prospective ones. It took a lot of effort to preserve and develop the tradition of wine production in Vinodol.
The Jankacký and Podhorský winery is located south of the town of Nitra in a village called Vinodol. The word wine is contained in the name of the village and its history dates back to the 12th century.
In 2018, Mr. Jankacký and Podhorský created a new original winery brand, JP Winery, and currently cultivate more than 90 hectares of vineyards.
JP Winery's vineyards are located on the south-western slope east of the village of Vinodol in the Nitra wine-growing region. The soil types are the result of the flat relief of the river embankments. Thanks to this combination, the roots are able to penetrate very deep into the soil.
Since 2017, the wine has been produced in a new winery equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Worth mentioning are the premises for the maturation of red wines. Part of the red wines are aged in barrique oak barrels of Bordeaux type.
In the winery premises there is a wine cellar, popular with people from the surrounding area, open on weekdays, and a tasting room where private tastings can be organised.
