About the winery
Vinpera Winery was founded in 2016 by two partners - Peťa Kudláč and Rasťo ťukovič, from which the name of the winery is derived - it is an abbreviation of Vinárstvo Peter a Rasťo. It is located in Radošovce, which belongs to the Skalické wine-growing district. Radošovce is a village with a long viticultural tradition - the first written mention of wine production dates back to 1555. In 2016, they started planting their own vineyards, because the basic philosophy is to make wine exclusively from their own grapes.
"We believe that when we know what happened to the grapes all year from flowering to harvest, we know how to work with them better in the cellar to achieve high quality wine, and we see great added value in that."
Currently, the VINPERA winery has planted 13 ha of vineyards, of which 8 ha are productive in Radošovce and 5 ha in Skalica were planted in 2021. The vineyard in Radošovce is one of the highest located registered vineyards in Slovakia (lower headland 350 m.a.s.l., upper headland 380 m.a.s.l. ) with ideal southern exposure and almost permanent wind, which helps prevent diseases. Grapes are grown in the so-called integrated production, where the amount and type of spraying is strictly regulated, therefore, among other things, they use a weather station in the vineyard, which helps prevent outbreaks of vine diseases. The goal is again to achieve the healthiest grapes possible. In 2020, they approved the new winery building in Radošov ´s vineyards.
The winery is designed to produce approximately 100,000 liters of wine per year. The wine is produced using modern reductive technology, while the technology tries to combine the traditional approach with the use of available modern technologies. The winery also considers the short distance between the winery and the vineyard to be an advantage, thanks to which the harvested grapes are processed in a very short time and oxidation is minimized. The winery building has areas for processing grapes, a cellar for maturing white wines with stainless steel vessels and an integrated cellar for maturing red wines with oak barrels. The tasting room of the winery has a capacity of 40 people.
