About the winery
Winery BOGNÁR is a family winery from the royal town of Svätý Jur, which is located in the foothills of the Small Carpathians and is part of the Small Carpathian wine region, the jewel of winemaking in Slovakia. The vineyards are spread over the southwestern slopes of the Small Carpathians and are mainly planted on light sandy-stony granite soils.
Thanks to the unique terroir, St. George's wines have the best reputation among experts and wine lovers, and especially when it comes to St. George's Riesling . You can find the Bognár winery in the heart of Svätý Jur, in the historical premises of the Monastery of the Order of Piarists, where they have their production and also beautiful tasting rooms with a wonderful atmosphere. The basis of the wine is grapes of exceptional quality, which they cultivated with their own hands in their vineyards. In the process of grape processing, they use rather modern technologies, from gentle and fast pressing, through de-sludging, to controlled fermentation at regulated low temperatures.
These technologies and small batch volumes make it possible to produce exceptional wines with typical varietal characteristics in aroma and taste. The wines are significantly extractive and juicy. Thanks to this, they win high awards at many international competitions and exhibitions. The motto of the winery is: "Vineyards bathed in the sun, healthy grapes, family approach, enough time for ripening and above all the belief that the quality of the final product must not suffer at the expense of quantity."
