About the winery
The VIAJUR winery is located in the center of the Small Carpathian winegrowing region in the Renaissance Pálffy Manor in St. Jura. This respectfully continued the rich history of wine production, the tradition of which was introduced in the cellars of the manor by Katarína Pálffy as early as 1580. And the wines of the boutique winery gain their taste in the original Pálffy cellars even today.
In growing grapes, VIAJUR focuses on a wide range of domestic and international varieties. The vines are grown on two estates with a characteristic terroir, which is also reflected in the wine – Svätý Jur and Farná. The estate in St. Jura is exceptional for great Rieslings, Riesling Jura and Riesling Liebling. The Farná estate stands out with its aromatic white varieties and beautiful blue varieties, such as the Slovak Dunaj or Hron. Winery built on the legacy of the past adheres to modern trends in its approaches, with regard to sustainability and ecological practices. It is the return to nature, in its purest form, that forms the central philosophy of VIAJUR. The winery is currently in the period of conversion to an organic regime, which is why vine cultivation takes place without any chemical intervention. No herbicides, pesticides, insecticides or any conventional chemical sprays are used.
The portfolio of the winery, with an annual production of 120,000 bottles, includes white, rosé, red wines and sparkling wines, produced using the traditional method. All the wines on offer are vegan, white and rose wines are also low-histamine. The entire production is divided into three editions - Classic, Pro rege et patria and Ars in vino, vinum in arte, and the portfolio also includes modern packaging in cans.
The VIAJUR winery respectfully builds on history, without ossification and tying. In the past, Katarína Pálffy took a revolutionary approach to wine production in the Pálffy Manor, today the VIAJUR winery has taken over the reins of innovative ideas.
The Pálffy Manor also provides accommodation in unique historic or modern apartments, and it also includes two restaurants - à la carte restaurant Hostinec Palatín and fine dining ARTE Restaurant.
