Tasting of award-winning Vitis Aurea Modra wines 2024

Take a peek inside an international wine exhibition at the tasting of award-winning wines at the XXIII. year of the exhibition Vitis Aurea Modra. See if your tastes agree with the verdicts of the expert jury of sommeliers, oenologists and winemakers.

At any time during the tasting on Friday and Saturday, Friday, March 22nd and Saturday, March 23rd, 2023, you can taste the wines from the competition, including the champions of each category, at the Sebastián Hotel, in the historic center of Modra. 

You can purchase a single ticket in advance at GoGo.wine for 15 € (on site at 18 € until capacity is reached). The ticket includes:

• wine glass
• catalog of wines from the competition
• starter pack of 30 tokens that you exchange for wine samples

A special package for two people for 28 € (32 € on site during the event until capacity is reached). The ticket for two includes: two wine glasses, two catalogs and two starter packs of 30 tokens each. You can but the special package for two people here. 

In addition to Slovak wines, wines from neighboring Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Spain and Romania are participating in the exhibition.

Wines compete in the following categories:

I. Still white wines (residual sugar up to 4 g/l)

II. Still white wines (residual sugar 4-45 g/l)

III. Still rosé wines (residual sugar up to 45 g/l)

IV. Still red wines (residual sugar up to 12 g/l) 

V. Naturally sweet wines regardless of color (residual sugar from 45 g/l)

VI. Sparkling wines

After the tasting you can stay over in Modra in one of its charming small hotels or B&Bs. You can reach Modra easily by car or buses running every half hour.
