#Kvapka: Slobodné winery
120 minutes
Description
Bratislava has a new home for natural wine.
The Nahé vína project, known for its successful festivals, joins forces with the Rómer House and brings a series of regular guided tastings with international participation under the name Kvapka – evenings dedicated to natural wine.
The eighth evening, taking place on Wednesday 17 June at 19:00, will be dedicated to one of the most distinctive names in Slovak natural winemaking – Slobodné vinárstvo from Majer Zemianske Sady near Hlohovec.
The family farm has roots dating back to 1912, and the current winery continues a tradition that was interrupted by history but successfully revived.
Slobodné vinárstvo is among the pioneers of natural wine in Slovakia.
They farm 17 hectares of vineyards using organic and biodynamic principles, with an emphasis on living soil, the historic Hlohovec terroir, and loess soils rich in calcium.
They cultivate grape varieties naturally suited to this region, including Frankovka modrá, Veltlínske zelené, Rizling rýnsky, Tramín červený, Devín, Rulandské šedé, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Alibernet.
Ticket price: €20 until 17 June at 15:00. The price includes:
- guided tasting of 8–10 wine samples
- gastro snack
Their wines ferment spontaneously, without intervention and without unnecessary additives. In the cellar, they are given time and space to evolve at their own pace. For maturation, they use oak barrels made from local wood, clay amphorae, Georgian qvevri, and other vessels that give the wines different expressions while always preserving their natural character.
The tasting will be structured as a guided selection of wines, accompanied by a gastro snack from the kitchen of Rómer House.
