Guided wine tasting with a sommelier

Treat yourself to a summer evening that begins with a glass of wine and ends in easy conversation about what you have just tasted. At Frtus Winery in Rybník pri Leviciach, an experienced sommelier guides you through a wine tasting right where the wine is made.

A guided tasting means you are never left to it on your own. The sommelier introduces each wine in turn, shares its story, its grape variety and how best to enjoy it. It is a relaxed way to find your bearings in wine and discover the flavours you might otherwise miss.

Over the course of the evening you will taste 8 samples of premium wines from the Frtus Winery cellar, a family winery whose wines have earned awards at the Národný salón vín, AWC Vienna and Vinalies Internationales in Paris. The wines are paired with homemade tapas.

The tasting runs from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the winery's modern grounds, surrounded by its own vineyards. A tour of the winery is available during the evening for those interested.

Admission is €50 per person and includes the tasting of 8 wines and homemade tapas. Places are limited, so we recommend booking in advance. To make more of the trip, Hotel Golden Eagle in nearby Levice is a comfortable place to stay.
