Svätý Jur ’s Wine Cellars Day 2026
420 minutes
Description
The atmosphere of this historic wine-making town just minutes from Bratislava can be experienced in full during Svätý Jur’s Open Cellars Day. During the 19th edition of this popular winter wine route, taking place 30–31 January 2026, 25 wine cellars will open their doors, on both Friday and Saturday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In the narrow streets and historic houses of Svätý Jur, visitors taste wines right where they are made and soak up the authentic spirit of this Small Carpathian wine-growing town.
St. George’s Cellars Day is a classic wine route: with a ticket, a cellar map, and a tasting glass, visitors can move from cellar to cellar at their own pace. They discover various winemakers’ styles, compare young vintages with archival wines, and—through conversations with the winemakers—gain deeper insight into their work and the region’s wine-growing traditions. In the historic vaulted cellars as well as in more modern spaces, typical wines of Svätý Jur and the Small Carpathians are prepared for tasting—from crisp whites and rosés to fuller-bodied reds.
A one-day ticket costs €35. The ticket includes a practical neck pouch, a tasting glass, a cellar map, and €15 worth of wine purchase coupons, which can be used during the event to buy bottles to take home. Each ticket is valid only for the selected day—visitors choose whether to come on Friday or Saturday.
Tickets purchased online are picked up on the day of the event from 11:00 AM directly on the main square in Svätý Jur at the collection booth, where organizers hand out the pouch, glass, map, and coupons. From there, all that remains is to plan your own route through the cellars of Svätý Jur and let yourself be carried away by the winter wine atmosphere of the Small Carpathians.
