The Wine Tour of the Hont Region

The Wine Tour of the Hont Region - that's a total of 25 wineries in the Hont region, on the remains of the majestic Sitno volcano. Take a look at the wine cellars of the Central Slovak wine region, which are closed to the public during the year. This area worth discovering was at one time the second largest exporter of grapes in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Not only charming Staré Hora awaits you, but also open cellars of winemakers in villages from Krupina to Sebechleby to Dudince on Friday 21.6. from 14:00 and on Saturday 22.6. from 11:00.

The typical grape variety for this area is Konkordia white and Konkordia red (native) Jerusalem, but people can also find more famous varieties here - Chardonnay, Pesecká leánka, Gewurtztraminer, Blaufrankish and others.

Transportation is arranged individually. It is up to you where you start your journey, because each cellar and its winemaker have their own story, which they are happy to present to you. In some wineries, you can also enjoy gastronomic specialties such as goulash, sausages or grilled meat.

The wine celebrations will culminate on Saturday, June 22. at 9:00 p.m. by lighting the Jánske flame, which is a symbol of the connection of all involved wineries.

Discounted tickets, which are always valid for both days, are on sale until 31.5.2024 at a price of €17 (€20 from June 1, 2024, €25 during the event until sold out).
