In accordance with the valid Slovak and European legislation we hereby inform you of Cookies, the purpose of their use and possible settings.

In accordance with Paragraph § 55 part 5 of the Law of the National Council of the Slovak Republic no. 351/2011 Z. z. On Electronic Communications as amended we are informing you about the use of Cookies and would like to draw your attention to possible changes in your internet browser setting in case the current settings do not suit you.

1. What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device with internet access (e.g., computer, smartphone or tablet). Thanks to these files the web site stores for a period of time information on user behaviour (e.g. login using a certain user name, language settings, font size and others. Cookies stored in a web browser can therefore ensure that on a subsequent visit to the website the user will not have to enter previously entered data again - the web browser read the Cookies files again and send the information to the website that originally created these Cookies.

2. Purpose of use of Cookies

In general Cookies are used for various purposes from measuring web site functionality through allowing individualisation and personalisation to statistical analyses of user behaviour and ads targeted directly to website users.

3. Types of Cookies

Cookies fall under several types based on a number of criteria.

Depending on origin, there are:

  • First party Cookies created by the web site currently visited. Only this web site can recognise and read this category of Cookies. In general, Operator uses these Cookies to increase the quality of services provided through its websites, personalisation of the content displayed, improvement of content or analyses of visits.
  • Third party Cookies are stored on the device by web sites (domains) other than those currently bring browsed by the user. Third party Cookies are therefore stored on more internet web sites and third parties that placed these are able to follow the user across all web sites where these Cookies are stored. Thanks to these characteristics of Cookies, third parties can follow, analyse and evaluate user behavior and subsequently provide web site Operators with services such as measurement of visits or placement of targeted advertising.

Depending on the validity period, during which Cookies are stored on the user’s device we recognise two types:

  • Session Cookies, which are only used during a single web site visit. Cookies of this type activate at the moment of visit to a specific web site and erase at the moment when the browser is closed. The serve to identify a device during a website visit and improve the browsing possibilities.
  • Persistent Cookies help recognise each unique web site user and remain stored on the user’s device until the expiration date set in advance or until the user erases them. Persistent Cookies allow the provision of more personalised content to the user on subsequent visits.

Depending on function, there are the following types of Cookies:

  • Strictly necessary Cookies are required for the operation and correct functioning of web sites and can not be turned off in the operator’s systems. Strictly necessary Cookies do not preserve any personally identifiable information and do no require user consent.
  • Preferential Cookies gather information on choices and preferences of the user with respect to a specific web site. They allow storing the language or other local settings and adjust the web site to them. Preferential Cookies allow the web site to remember information that can change the way the web site behaves or looks.
  • Analytical Cookies gather mainly anonymous information on how the user uses the web site, for example what subpages the user visits the most frequently and what content the user finds the most interesting. Information gathered in this category of Cookies allow web sites to become more attractive and their content optimised. Analytical Cookies do not get erased after the browser is closed. They are stored permanently on the user’s computer or another device.
  • Marketing Cookies are used for correct setting, targeting and personalisation o ads on a web site participating in an advertising system. These Cookies are entered on the Operator’s website by third parties - e.g. its advertising partners. Third parties are able to use data gained through marketing Cookies to create a profile of a user’s interests and then display relevant ads on other web sites on its basis. Marketing Cookies do not directly store user’s personal information but can identify a browser and internet device. These Cookies do not get erased after the browser is closed. They are stored permanently on the user’s computer or another device.

Cookie Settings

You can prevent the creation of Cookies through the web browser setting, so that the browser informs you of Cookie use and allows you to decide individually whether you wish to accept or reject a Cookie. Web browser can be set to automatically accept Cookies under certain conditions, always reject them or erase them automatically when the browser closes. Rejecting Cookies can limit the web site functionality.
